THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THE FROG RALLY

3/31/2017 12:00:00 AM

REGISTRATION

Registration for the 2017 FROG International Rally will open on Thursday, April 6.  Here are some things that you need to consider before you complete your registration.  There is a separate article, “2017 FROG Rally Registration Procedures,” that will give you information on the registration process itself.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen a substantial number of registrations made and then cancelled so late that it was often impossible for people on the standby list to change their plans at the last minute and attend the FROG Rally.  As a result, we have been forced to implement the following cancellation policy.

  • There is a $100 registration cancellation fee before July 1.
  • From July 1 through July 31, cancellation fee is 50% of registration and tour fees.
  • On or after August 1, there are no refunds.
  • Exceptions MAY be granted under extraordinary circumstances on an individual basis.

RALLY SERVICE

Since the first FROG International Rally in 2012, we have provided factory service for many of those FROG members attending the event.  Service was never intended to be the focus of the FROG Rally, but rather an added benefit to the main event.  For many, though, it has become the focus, and, like many good things, it has gotten somewhat out of hand.

This has resulted in requests to provide enhancements and upgrades, to repair collision damage, to repair damage caused by owner modifications, and other items that are clearly outside of the scope of what the program is intended to include.  Those are not design or construction flaws, and they are not our responsibility to address.

IN ORDER TO KEEP SERVICE REQUESTS MANAGEABLE, WE WILL AGAIN BE APPLYING RULES SIMILAR TO THOSE THAT WERE IMPLEMENTED LAST YEAR:

SERVICE PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO ORIGINAL OWNERS OF RVs LESS THAN FOUR MODEL YEARS OLD.

Service at the FROG Rally is intended to address items that are or would have been covered under warranty for the original owner, recall items, and safety concerns.  It is NOT provided to replace regular care and maintenance of your RV; to provide enhancements or upgrades; to take the place of your insurance in handling collision damage; to correct problems caused by modifications that you have made after the original assembly of your RV; to address concerns with a unit that you’ve purchased used; etc.

Service requests beyond the scope of these guidelines may be declined.

For requests outside the scope of the guidelines, it MIGHT be possible for your division to provide the service at a reduced, but not free, cost for parts and labor.

Depending on the nature of work requested, it might be necessary to arrive before or stay after the FROG Rally to have work done at a plant rather than at the Fairgrounds.

All service requests will be sent directly to the Rally Service Team at a mail or e-mail address that will be on the Service Request Form.  Please do not send them directly to FROG.

Service Request Forms will be available online on the FROG Rally page of the FROG website shortly after registration closes.

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN) / SERIAL NUMBER

We are requesting that everyone attending the FROG Rally provide your complete VIN or Serial Number so that we can check all units for any outstanding recall issues.  You will NOT need to have your VIN to register (although if you do, that would be great), but we will ask you to provide it before June 1.

EARLY ARRIVAL / LATE DEPARTURE

The FROG Rally officially begins on Sunday, August 6, and your Rally fee includes camping starting on that day.  We encourage early arrivals in order to make it possible to get 800 units parked.  However, because we are coming into the Fairgrounds immediately after the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, early arrival will not be allowed before Thursday, August 3, except for invited members of the Parking and Registration Teams.  This is to allow the Fairgrounds staff time to remove tents, clean buildings, mow grass, install temporary electric and water lines, and perform other tasks.  We have asked the Fairgrounds staff not to accept any early arrival requests for dates before Thursday unless they come from our office.

In addition, because of an event using the Fairgrounds the week after the FROG Rally, late departures will be limited as well.

To arrange for early arrival / late departure, please call the Fairgrounds at (574) 533-3247.
