2024 "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans"

January 28 - February 4, 2024

Let the Good Times Roll as you travel to New Orleans during the build-up to Mardi Gras festivities!  We’ll enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of The Big Easy as we explore this exciting and historic city.
Cruise the Mighty Mississippi on an authentic paddlewheel boat as we enjoy a traditional Cajun lunch. Visit a swamp and explore the wildlife. Tour a factory that builds the colorful and fanciful Mardi Gras floats that celebrate the city’s largest festival. Step back in time at the historic Oak Alley Plantation, and more. Enjoy the color and spectacle of Mardi Gras parades. Savor authentic Café du Monde beignets.
NOTE:  We will NOT be in New Orleans on the actual date of Mardi Gras, which is on Tuesday, February 13 in 2024.

Your New Orleans adventure will leave you with a lifetime of memories and a desire to come back for more.  You’ll enjoy:

♦ 7 nights of full hook-up camping at the New Orleans RV Resort (formerly Pontchartrain Landing) just ten minutes from the French Quarter
Welcome reception and light dinner
Guided City Tour, including the French Quarter and the Garden District, City Cemetery #1

On your own, visit Jackson Square, dominated by the St. Louis Cathedral and the Pentalba Buildings. Enjoy the live entertainment that often takes place on the plaza.
Enjoy a carriage ride in the French Quarter, or ride one of the city’s famed streetcars, operating in the Garden District and along the riverfront for nearly 190 years.
Enjoy beignets and coffee at world-famous Café du Monde. Take in the nightlife of Bourbon Street. Participate in a ghost tour or voodoo tour, if you dare.
Visit the National WWII Museum to learn about the war and to honor and thank the members of “The Greatest Generation” who fought and those who supported them at home. See and hear how Higgins Industries in New Orleans built the landing craft responsible for bringing troops ashore on D-Day and throughout much of World War II.
